What I like about the Marine Layer ReSpun Sherpa Corbet
The Marine Layer ReSpun Sherpa Corbet is one of the coziest things I own. My partner calls me snuggle monkey when I wear it. Friends can’t help but fondle it. It’s soft and it’s fluffy; what more could you want?
Despite its bulk, it’s still a technical piece. It’s not restrictive, even if it runs a little small. It kept me warm, trapping heat between the fuzzy particles, as temps dropped while bouldering in Bishop until the light faded.
Quarter-zip pieces tend to not have pockets, but this has one. It’s perfect for your phone, keys, or wallet.
What I don’t like
I think the ReSpun title is a little misleading. This is only made with 30% recycled polyester. 30% isn’t enough to call it ReSpun, considering the majority of the Sherpa Corbet is still constructed of new materials.
The fabric tends to hold onto musty smells. If it’s hanging in your closet for a while, shake it out every once in a while.
And this is personal preference, but I will always pick a hood over no hood. I wish Marine Layer made this in a hooded version, because snuggle factor would increase tenfold.
Buy the ReSpun Sherpa Corbet through Marine Layer for $145 $110.
